Fittingly named 'Top of the World,' this unique house offers embracing views of neighboring pastures and layers of the Blue Ridge spanning over 15-20 miles on clear days. Even mist-laden mornings make for lovely blanket-wrapped awakenings - Absorbed in the “ahhh” of soul melting creamsicle colored sunrises and sips of steaming hot coffee with the cows, one may be even be stirred to join into the communal “Mooooo!!”
'Top of the World' is a sink-into-the-couch and nap or read with an easy page-turner kind of place – homey and honest. A little house with history that has been built and maintained over the years with a lot of love and comfort. This home atop Green Knob Mountain is located on an acre lot at the end of a private road making it truly nice and quiet...
Upstairs, one will find an inviting open kitchen/dining area featuring a beautiful stone-mason fireplace and high ceilings with exposed rafters. Two bedrooms (one with twin beds, and one with a queen bed) and a bathroom are located off of the main common area on this floor. This restful space is decorated casually and tastefully with a bit of 1970’s throw back (and on the way back!) fashion. Love that avocado green!
The Party People in your group will take to 'Pa’s Pool Room' downstairs right away. An original antique pool table from the Burlington Mills Overseers club house (circa 1920-60’s, Franklinton, NC) is the prominent fixture in this room, rendering it a unique gathering place for entertainment and plenty of healthy competition, all in good (and mostly clean) fun. On the first floor, one will also find a new bedroom with queen bed and a small bath. Décor throughout the house includes family or local art, quilts and photography.
